On Monday, February 24, we had very special guests that came to our school, and they where the Police officers.
Community Helpers Police: Their job is to enforce the law. They do
this in many different ways, by patrolling the streets, getting to
know the people who live in the town, helping people who have
accidents, directing traffic to avoid accidents, and more.
We learned that the Police men work in the Police Station.
People call the Police Station when they need help. The number is 911, but we call only in an emergency.
Morah showed us flash cards of the theme Police officers, and the different tools that they use and then read us a book.
We got to sit in their van.
Matthew Got a chance to talk on the speaker.
The Police man receives detailed information directly from 911 dispatchers on a mobile data terminal mounted inside their van.
Police man direct traffic to avoid accidents.
