                       Our second week

                              Happy Birthday Ariana!
Monday September, 16 we celebrated Arian's Birthday.
The children where very excited to bake cup cakes for the party. We made GREEN frosting, Ariana's favorite color.
We would like to thank Ariana's mother for reading us a birthday book, and for the memory game that we each got as a present.

This week we began learning the Calendar. We learned that there are 12 Months in the year, 4 Seasons in the year, and 7 days in the Week. We also check each day, what the weather is like today.
The children enjoyed singing the song. And they each got a turn helping with the calendar.

This week we learned about the holiday of Sukkot.
we build a Sukkah with 4 walls, we use leaves for the ceiling and the ground for the floor. We seat and eat in a Sukkah for 8 days.
The nursery children had alot of fun making a little Sukkah from a box. We also went to the play ground to collect leaves for the ceiling.

Fun time at the play ground

We learned that the shape of our Sukkah is a SQUARE.

Another mitzah that we do on sukkot is, shake the Esrog and the Lulav. We take 4 different plants, hold them together and make a brachah, Al Netilat Lulav, and we shake it up, down and all around.

We colored our Sukkah in BROWN paint.

                               Third Week

This week we learned about the holiday of Simchat Torah.
On this holiday we dance and sing with the Torah and we celebrate that we finished reading the whole Torah.

The nursery children made delicious Torah cookies. We used a SQUARE  cookie cuter.

We also made a flag  to dance with the Torah.
We used water paint to decorate our flags.

The Nursery children where very excited to go to the Sinagog
to dance with the Torah.

This week we were eating our lunch in the Sukkah.

It is hard to believe that the month of September is almost over.
We hope that you all enjoyed your holiday, and will come back to school energized to being a new and exciting month of learning and exploring new things.
