We are very happy that our Nursery children adjusted really well and are getting used to the routine. The children enjoyed exploring the classroom and playing in different centers.
On Tuesday, we learned the word NEW because we are in a new
classroom, we have a new Morah Leah and Morah Sara, we begin a new year of school, and a new year in our Jewish calendar. We are all asking Hashem to give us a sweet new year. We learn that on yom kippur we listen to the sound of a shofar. It reminds us to do allot of mitzvot. The Nursery children are learning how to do different mitzvot like being nice to our friends, sharing and caring. We also learn how to say please and thank you to our Morahs and friends. The children really enjoyed making their first project. We each painted a shofar in the color BROWN.
We wold like to thank Mr. Zeke for coming to our classroom to show us a real shofar and how it sounds. The children took turns feeling the different shofars.
We had a great time at the playground.
On Thursday, the Nursery children enjoyed baking honey cake.
We eat honey cake to have a sweet new year.
Before Yom Kippur, some have the custom to do "Kapparos"
with a chicken. Rabbi Avramel showed our class a real, live
chicken.
We would like to wish you all a happy and sweet new year
Morah Leah & Morah Sara
